A Little About In Depth
In Depth International, Inc. was formed in 1998 to be a parent
company of various ocean related enterprises. In Depth
Consulting is IDI's principle subsidiary, encompassing the
Sidescan Sonar Surveying, Search and Recovery and Diving
Education aspects of this business. Born out of a passion for
exploration and discovery of the unknown, IDC combines an
attitude of wonder, curiosity and excitement with the strictest
business professionalism. Put quite simply, we love our job and
we love sharing our excitement with our clients! Over the past
few years, IDC has worked on projects ranging from hull
inspections to searching for a lost Super Bowl ring to boat
salvages. In mid-2000, IDC acquired its Sidescan Sonar system,
giving the company an amazing tool for conducting underwater
searches and surveys. Since that time, discoveries have
been made which have taken us across the US, to South America
and even as far away as Outer Mongolia and have been featured in
numerous dive related
magazines, newspapers and television news programs. Stay tuned and check back as we post
information on our latest ventures.

Profile: Gregg Mikolasek
Gregg started diving in 1982 at the age of 15. He attended the University of
Michigan from 1985-1991, earning two degrees including a Masters in
Atmospheric and Oceanic Science. The ocean eventually won. He got
into marine salvage in 1996 and became a PADI & TDI Instructor in 1997. He
now holds the rating of Master Diver Trainer. From 1999-2002, Gregg
was a Dive Safety Officer aboard
the M/V Coral Star, a luxurious liveaboard operating in the
pristine waters off of Panama's Pacific coast. Now a
manufacturer's representative with Delta P Technology LTD (VR
Dive Computers), Blue Steel LLC and Kaplan Industries, he still enjoys leading dive trips
when not busy with travel or sonar projects. Gregg became a certified EMT in 1998, has been a licensed
private pilot since 1992 and holds a 100GT US Coast Guard
Captain's License. Hobbies include diving for fun, shipwreck
research, boating, skydiving, camping, skiing and exploring

Dive Team Members: B-29 Descent Team

From left: Alan, Gregg & Melody

|
Melody Gritz - Dive Safety
Melody brought to the team an incredible wealth of
knowledge and experience. Diving since the age of 18, she has logged
over 3000 dives in a wide variety of environments and holds technical
diving instructor level ratings through Trimix. |
 |
Alan Bruns - Rigging and Lighting
Alan was an experienced technical diver and a key member of our team. His
experience as an expert rigger was invaluable and he also played a huge roll
in the construction of the custom lighting systems we designed to illuminate
the wreck for filming. Alan had served in the Navy and ran a professional
rigging shop. Sadly, Alan passed away in October 2004. He was
without a doubt one of the nicest, most real people I have ever known.
He is deeply missed.

wrecks and cave exploration. Check out his latest adventures and

Other Team Members

Sandee Guy - Rescue Diver / Logistical Support
Sandee is the person everyone loves to have onboard. From handling a great
deal of the logistics involved, to cooking and boat handling (in both calm
and rough weather :-O), she really helped keep everyone safe and
comfortable. I think she also fattened us up a few pounds, even with all
that deep diving...

San Jose State University. As a producer / director, Steffan's work has
